Before hitting the town and enjoying one of our thousands of fun-filled family activities, you may want to enjoy a relaxing day taking in the sun and pristine waters of some of the best beaches in the world. Lido Beach provides a picture postcard setting along with sugary soft white sands. Bask in the sun, or build castles in the sand, the family can then take a walk along the beach to one of the many shops on St. Armand's Circle (also founded by John Ringling), a 100 store up-scale shopping area.

Farther south of Sarasota on Venice Beach, wade through gentle surf to gather prehistoric sharks' teeth; you'll find more sharks' teeth here than anywhere else on earth!
If the beautiful beaches are not on the agenda for the day, why not visit the Sarasota Jungle Gardens, one of the country's oldest zoological gardens. Walking the grounds you will not only view the beautiful gardens but be exposed to the sights and sounds of exotic birds, reptiles & mammals, and the rare black jaguar. With over 10 acres of lush green tropical foliage, wander your way through the different jungle trails visiting the garden's many permanent exotic animal residents. Kids can explore the 'Kiddie Jungle' petting zoo, or the entire family can have a once in a lifetime experience of hand feeding the many 'free roaming' flamingos on the grounds.
